What is a shelter?
A shelter is a place of safety, protection, and a temporary home for those seeking relief or aid. South Valley Sanctuary is the only shelter in Salt Lake County that also accepts men in addition to women and children.
A Unique Facility
The South Valley Sanctuary Shelter has 13 rooms and 57 beds. Each family is provided with their own private bedroom and private bathroom. There are also communal areas including a living room, TV room, and a complete community kitchen and dining area. A Children’s Learning Center and outdoor playground add a sense of home for all residents to enjoy.
Our unique approach aims to empower all family members by working one-on-one with a case manager in creating a weekly goal setting and action plan that will aid the adult in the family to make informed decisions about resources, as the family as a whole moves towards self-sufficiency.
